Our Packaging

At Essential Beauty Supplies, we like to keep our packaging as eco friendly as possible. We try to avoid buying plastic packing, and reuse as much paper and cardboard as possible. 

On occasion you may receive a parcel with plastic packaging in, as some of our suppliers do use plastic (air pockets, styrofoam peanuts, bubblewrap etc) and we will reuse this to ensure that it is used as much as possible before being thrown away. We encourage you to do the same if you can! We also reuse cardboard boxes that are in good condition, so you might find that the product in the box isn't always what it says on the outside! 

You will find that your parcels are wrapped with branded tape. This is the one exception to the no plastic rule, as we have previously used paper-based tape on our packages, and suffered breakages and missing items. We are however still looking for a good alternative tape that's more eco friendly without having to increase our packing costs. 

The packing peanuts that we use are made from cornstarch which means they are easily biodegradable and are even edible (at least in theory), however we do not recommend you try them! You can chuck them in your home composting, the food waste bin, or provided they stay dry you can re-use them. They can even make a fun craft activity for kids, as they stick together easily with just a little water.
